Buda Funicular

Just a few steps away from our hotel, you will find the Buda Hill Funicular (Budavári Sikló) that will enable you to reach the Castle District area. It provides a unique and beautiful view of Budapest, the River Danube and sights at the top of Castle Hill, such as the Fisherman’s Bastion.

Chain Bridge

Opposite our hotel, you will find the city’s most famous bridge, the Széchenyi Chain Bridge. It was the first permanent stone-bridge connecting Pest and Buda, however the second permanent crossing on the whole length of the river Danube. It was designed by William Tierney Clark and built by the Scottish engineer Adam Clark.


Buda Castle

Buda Castle is one of the most emblematic architectural masterpieces of the cityscape. Today it is often referred to as the Royal Palace. It was home to the kings of Hungary from the 13th century.
The rooms and halls of it were not reconstructed, but today the Royal Palace functions as a complex modern cultural institution. It is home to the Hungarian National Gallery, the National Széchényi Library and the Budapest History Museum as well.

Fisherman's Bastion

Fisherman’s Bastion is one of the most visited attractions in Budapest with its breathtaking view. The cone-topped stone towers symbolize the 7 Hungarian chieftains who were important figures of the Hungarian history, because they once led the invasion of the Carpathian Basin and decided to settle down here. Since 1987, Fisherman’s Bastion has been one of Budapest’s World Heritage sites.

Matthias Church
